Headshots & Portraits

Step 1

Let's get together, either on the phone or in person, to talk about your photo session. You're investing in photos that will help you make a great first impression and likely get you lots of business! We want to make sure we've covered all the bases. We'll ask you a couple questions that will ensure we get you the great images you deserve. First off, we want to know where you're going to be using your photos: social media, corporate directory, talent agencies, etc. Each audience for you photos will require a slightly different approach, but we can meet them all in a single session if we know where to go. Next, we'll talk about what to wear and how to make sure you look your best. Generally speaking, strong patterns (bold stripes, intricate patterns) distract from your headshot and shift the focus from you, to what you're wearing. We want YOU to be the focus of your headshot. We'll talk about outfits, hair & makeup, and how to mix jackets, ties, scarves, and jewelry for little changes that dramatically change the look of your headshot easily & quickly.

Step 2

It's your day! If you're joining us in our North Austin studio, we'll get you settled in to our changing area, introduce you to our professional hair & makeup specialist, and get you ready for first frame. We'll ask you to sign a standard model release (we'll provide you an e-mail copy after the shoot) via iPad and get you squared away with a beverage. We'll collect your session fee (minus any retainers or pre-payments) via credit card. We'll crank out your photo session in about 40 minutes after any hair or makeup, allowing a little more time for outfit changes if necessary. We'll have a look at the images with you and decide which ones best meet your needs before we do a complete and professional retouch on those images. If we're coming to your location, we'll show up with lights, portable power, backdrops, and a polished, professional appearance & attitude.

Step 3

We'll post your images to a password-protected online gallery where you can download the images, order additional print products, and comment on or share the images with friends. You'll also get a link to a mobile device gallery that will let you view and share all your images on your phone or tablet. It really is that easy!
